Anaa

 

The small atoll of Anaa, so called the jade lagoon thanks to the intense green of its lagoon has eleven motu lining the lagoon without reef pass. The atoll was famous because it was the birthplace of the royal family of Pomare and was also known for its wild warlike conquering who invaded the nearby atolls going to Rangiroa.

Since then, the island became much more peaceful and more welcoming, where tranquillity is guaranteed. You can practise nautical activities such as diving or the underwater fishing.

During your discovery of the island, don’t miss the feo, these blocks of coral which emerge as high as three meters and which are characteristic of the atoll.

Anaa lives around the village of Tukuhora, where the polulation live traditionally on the fishing and on the harvest of the copra.
